Conversion to Plug-in Hybrid - Fleet Savings Examples

Fleet managers face many challenges; including constrained budgets, rising fuel costs, and mandates to become "Greener". Becoming greener often meant waiting for and applying for government grants, due to the expense of the solutions offered. Bus and truck conversions from others cost $60,000-80,000, and up.

What did pass was a simple and rugged design that offers the best bang for the buck! We may not have all the bells and whistles of some offerings, but we do offer big savings, and our prices start at just $10,000!

An example of savings, based on data from a trial is offered below. Your case may be different, and actual results may differ from the models shown. But, any case, at or better than break-even, could represent the beginning of your fleet? with Greening!

Hybrid Savings Example: Municipal

  • Assume you drive 40 miles per day in a 10mpg truck [automatic], all local driving. Experience indicates in this case you can get up to 35% mileage improvement with our conversion. Here from 10mpg up to 13.5mpg.
  • So, 40 miles a day multiplied by 300 days per year [6 days/wk] = 12,000 mi/year Now: 12,000 miles divided by 10 miles per gallon = 1,200 gallons After: 12,000 miles divided by 13.5 miles per gallon = 889 gallons You save 311 gallons per year.
  • Lets assume 15 years use: 180,000 miles, = 4665 gallons saved Fuel costs average = $5/gallon, from $2.60-3/gallon now to $9/gallon in 2024
  • Savings: 90,500 lbs of CO2 emissions. 4665 gallons multiplied by 19.4 lbs of CO2 emissions per gallon not-combusted.
  • Savings: $23,325. 4665 gallons multiplied by $5 per gallon.
  • Drive over 180k miles and get more savings.
  • Cost: about $18,000. This 8,500 lb GVWR case needs a kit with 12kwh of battery.

    Fuel savings are over $5,000 greater than the conversion cost.
